Phillip-East-1427038412Phillip Edward East, 68 of Lacey’s Spring died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. East was born March 1, 1947 in Madison County, the son of Joseph H. and Mattie Mae Moon East. He and the former Patricia Ann Sparks were married 44 years and have lived in the Lacey’s Spring area for most of his lifetime.

He was a truck driver for Arab Cartage and enjoyed playing bass guitar and riding horses. He attended Calvary Holiness Church and Lacey’s Spring United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife: : Patty East; three daughters and sons-in-law: Tracy Lewis, Tara and Jonathan Brooks and Dawn and Chris Estes; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; five brothers and sisters-in-law: Clinnon and Elna East, Namon and Carol East, Randall and Artie East, Raleigh and Karen East and David and Connie East; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Corinna Gay, Ruth and Bill McClendon and Linda and Ted Jenkins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other Family Members and many dear friends; preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Henry and Mattie Mae Moon East, three brothers: James, Chiloh and Joe D. East and two sisters: Eva Payne and Lynn Hosto.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Morgan City, Reverend Stephen Bennefield and Brother Jimmy Morrow, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Morgan City and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.

Pallbearers names will be added at a later time when confirmed.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel, Morgan City.
