Peter Lynn Strickland – Obituary

The funeral service for Peter Lynn Strickland, age 49 of Lineville, will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Tony Morris, Rev. Scott Nowland and Rev. Phillip Swafford officiating. Burial will follow in the Union “D” Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Mr. Strickland passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Clay County Hospital. He was a native and life-long resident of Clay County and a graduate of Lineville High School “Class of ‘88”. Peter was working for M&H Valve as a millwright but had also worked at Tyson Foods and the Anniston Army Depot. He was a member of the Clay County Bassmasters and a former member of Pine Hill Country Club. Peter loved to fish and golf.

 

He is survived by his father, Donald Strickland of Lineville; his mother, Barbara McLeroy of Muscadine; his companion of 13 years, Wendy Capps; one brother, Tony Strickland and his beloved doggies, Buster and Fifi.

 

Peter was preceded in death by one brother, DeWayne Strickland.

 

Pallbearers will be Johnny Hamlin, Travis Strickland, Jimmy Watts, Tom Strickland, Gary Edmondson and Junior Lambert.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
