Peter B. Wood, 78, of Arab, Alabama died on June 8, 2025, in his home after a recent cancer complication and a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born on September 4, 1946, in Bangor, Maine, the son of Grinnell Wood and Johnna (Redman) Wood. Peter married Donna (Watkins) Wood. They celebrated 60 years of marriage three days prior. They resided in Merrimack, NH until 2006.

Peter retired from the Teamsters after 38 years of dedicated service as a truck driver. He was an avid member of the America Truck Historical Society attending many truck shows throughout the country. He loved to travel in his RV with wife Donna, visiting all 50 states. He also enjoyed going on cruises, they took 11 in the Caribbean and Alaska. Those who met Peter would say they felt as if they had known him all their lives because of his engaging personality.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen (Wood) Gallagher, and brothers Craig, Jeffrey and Grinnell “Jack” Wood, and grandson Ryan Hayes. Surviving in addition to his wife, Donna (Watkins) Wood, are his son, Brian “Woody”; of Pheonix, AZ; daughter, Nancy (Wood) (Hayes) Williams of Arab; four grandchildren, Daniel (Scheurich) Wood, Tasha Hayes, Jered Hayes, Megan (Hayes) Portillo; five great grandchildren Mathew, Lilly, Marilin, Genessa, and Emmalyn; one brother Eric and his wife, Carol, of Florida; two sisters, Johnna “Jody” Wood of California, Jane (Pare)Wood of Maine; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no funeral services. Upon his wife’s passing they will both be interned at Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack, NH. Entrusted with arrangement is Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
