Funeral service for Penny Smallwood Hazel age 52 of Hartselle will be Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 11:00am at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Wray and Tammy Jones officiating with burial in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hazel, who was born on April 29, 1961 in Hartselle, Alabama, died on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her family and many friends. She worked for God every day and is now enjoying her awesome retirement in Heaven. Her most precious hobby was her family and friends and Penny was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband; Jimmy Hazel, by two daughters; Lela Hazel Morrow (Josh) of Hartselle and Jessica Hazel Fitzgerald (Errett) of Danville, her parents; Glenn and Jane Smallwood of Falkville, two brothers; Billy Smallwood (Judy) of Hartselle and Tony Smallwood (Melissa) of Neel, one sister; Mary Jane Turrentine (Freddie) of Moody and by her three grandchildren; Brodie, Jaxon and Charleigh.
Toni Couey, Edwina Cummins, Karen Jaquess, Karen Reeves, Joyce Free and Adelia Stover will serve as pallbearers.
Nancy Morrow, Betty Lacy, Casey Jones, Shirley Atkins,Kim Hazel and Bonnie Shelton will be Honorary Pallbearers.
