Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Watson Satterfield, age 91 of Lineville will be held on Saturday September 30, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Lineville Baptist Church, with Rev Jerry Colquett officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens.

Peggy was born in Montgomery to Samuel P. Watson and Wilma Bradford Watson; graduated from Anniston High School, had owned and operated Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Lineville for over 50 years and seemed to know everyone in town. She was a long time member of Lineville Baptist Church and the Faithful and Joyful Workers Sunday School Class.

She lived a life full of energy and happiness and was always surrounded by family and friends. No one in her circle could escape without at least one smile from her good humor. She enjoyed working in her yard, was an avid Auburn fan, and had a special love for her children, and was lovingly known as “MeMaw” to her grandchildren, and great-granddaughter

She is survived by two daughters Victoria S. Dick (Thomas) of Anniston and Paige S. Waller (Mark) of Opelika, four grandchildren, Ariana Hann (Brian), Austin Waller, Kaitlin Kemp (Garrett), and Reed Satterfield, one great-granddaughter, Jada Hann, and one sister, Julia W. Baldwin of Birmingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel P. Watson and Wilma Bradford Watson, her husband, Jack H. Satterfield, son, Jack H. Satterfield II, and one sister, Annette W. Miller.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the Hospice of Clay County Team, Timothy Jarmon (PT), Nurses Deana Cotney and Martha Patterson, and social worker Diane Giddens, as well as longtime friends, Karin Christopherson, Nell Miller, Francis Woodruff, and kind neighbors, Jan and Jeffrey Sheppard and Ron and Brenda Prochaska

Visitation will be held at Lineville Baptist Church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M..

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Clay County.
