Peggy W. Smith, age 76, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Peggy was born on June 23, 1941 to Milton C. Willis and Ruby Robinson Willis in Russellville, Alabama. Peggy married Jimmy Smith in July 1957. Peggy and her husband Jim moved to Columbia in 1958. Peggy was a member of the Russellville High School Marching Band where she was a majorette. She was also a member of Eastern Star. She worked as a secretary for several companies, including Pearl Vision from 1983 – 1988. She was a longtime homemaker.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. A private graveside service at Polk Memorial Gardens will follow.
Peggy is survived by her husband Jimmy Smith; children Sandra Kim Norwood, Marye Lynne Smith, Diane Smith (Todd) Mabry, Alison Smith Riley, and Jamie (Lisa) Smith; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Milton and Ruby Willis and beloved brother John Walter Willis.
