Peggy Swaim Weatherby, age 74 of Tuscumbia, died Saturday, July 9, 2016.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Darrell Pace and Bro. Larry Smart officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Peggy was retired from Bank Independent and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Sam Swaim; brother, Robert Swaim; sister, Jean McNeal; in-laws, Pearl and Earl Weatherby; brothers-in-law, Earl Choat and L. D. Vines; sister-in-law, Jo Swaim.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Robert Jerry Weatherby; daughters, Jenny Mitchell (Wiley), Sharon Shepherd (Jim); grandchildren, Whitney Woodis, Mallory Kimbrough (Justin), McKenzie Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Gunner Woodis, Case Woodis, Ava Kimbrough and Landon Kimbrough; sisters, Betty Vines, Sue Inman (Joe), Polly Robison (Jack), and Jane Black (Roger); sisters-in-law, Peggy Hester (Alton), Nancy Thornton (Larry); brother-in-law, Ron McNeal and special friend, Linda Jeffreys.
Pallbearers are Robin Swaim, Benji Swaim, Steve Choat, Gerald Choat, Roger Rich and Justin Kimbrough.
The Weatherby family expresses special thanks to the staff at Cottage of the Shoals, Wellington Place, Hospice Advantage and especially Joyce, Angie and Amanda for their loving care.
