WALKER COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident involving a pedestrian has taken the life of a Cordova man:
“A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, has claimed the life of a Cordova man.
The pedestrian, Monroe S. Wessler Jr., 65, who was in the roadway, was fatally injured after being struck by the 2010 Toyota Prius driven by Justin M. Dodd, 41, of Tuscaloosa. Wessler was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama 5 near the 161 mile marker, approximately three miles north of Dora, in Walker County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
