Morgan County Pedestrian Dies From Injuries Received After Being Hit By Tractor-Trailer

PRICEVILLE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident involving a pedestrian has taken the life of a Somerville man:

“A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 2:23 a.m. Monday, May 5, has claimed the life of a Somerville man.

The pedestrian, Andrez Mendez-Pedro, 82, was fatally injured when he was struck by the 2003 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Bruce E. Connett, 63, of Boaz. Mendez-Pedro was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 67 near Turtle Creek Road, approximately four miles south of Priceville, in Morgan County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
