HAZEL GREEN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single vehicle accident involving a pedestrian has taken the life of a Hazel Green man:
“A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian occurred at approximately 8:54 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, has claimed the life of a Hazel Green man.
The pedestrian, Justin S. Hovis, 34, who was in the roadway at the time of the crash, was fatally injured when he was struck by the 2011 Honda Pilot driven by Anna B. Defoe, 47, of Hazel Green. Hovis was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Butter and Egg Road near Bobo Section Road, approximately three miles northwest of Hazel Green, in Madison County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
