Paul Patrick Williams  Paul P. Williams, a devoted family man and cherished member of his Haleyville community, passed away on June 10, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of faith, and generosity. He was born on February 2, 1935, in Caollton, AL, and was raised at Springhill in Pickens County. Paul’s life was marked by his dedication to his loved ones and his church. He was an avid gardener, golfer, hunter, and fisherman.

At the age of 15, Paul accepted Christ and was baptized in Coal Fire Creek, beginning a lifelong commitment to his faith. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Haleyville, where he served as a deacon and taught men’s Sunday School. He loved to share the produce grown in his garden with others.

Paul’s professional career was marked by his role as Principal of Haleyville Elementary School. He was a respected educator who made a lasting impact on the lives of countless students and colleagues. His dedication to education and his commitment to nurturing youths will be remembered for generations to come.

Paul was blessed with love and companionship. In 2015, he married Joyce Carruth Williams, who stood by his side until his passing. Prior to his marriage to Joyce, Paul was married to Sharon Morton Williams, who passed away in 2002. Together, Paul and Sharon raised two sons, Ben P. Williams (Candi) and Dan A. Williams (Susan), who brought joy and pride to their father.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Daniel Williams, Hannah (Stephen) Hicks, Patrick (Allison) Williams, Jacob (Morgan) Williams, Erica (Gavin) King, Aubree Williams, and Moniee Williams. He was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren who brought him great joy.

Paul is survived by his brother Don (Annabelle) Williams and sister Anne Faulkner. He was preceded in death by nine siblings, Henry Williams, Mary Clifton, Edward Logan, Virginia Milstead, Jack Williams, Margaret Bowen, Thomas Williams, Howard Williams, and Martha Moats.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday June 17, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Haleyville, AL. Family will receive friends from 1:00PM – 2:00PM before the service at the church.

If you wish to make a donation, in lieu of flowers, the family requests they be made to a charity of your choice in Paul’s memory.
