Funeral services for Patsy Ingram, 82, of Ashland, will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 3:00 pm at the First Methodist Church of Ashland with Dr. Joe M. Allen Jr. officiating. Members of the immediate family will be paying tribute to their mother. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:30 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Ashland City Cemetery.

After a five-year battle with ovarian cancer, Patsy passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. A graduate of Clay County High School, she attended Auburn University as an art major before marrying George Ingram. She worked to support George as he completed his degree from Auburn. After several years of living outside of Clay County, they moved back to Ashland in 1974 to raise their three children, Clay, Wendy, and Maury. Together they opened the first convenience store in the county, The Jiffy Mart, as well as later opening the first sporting goods store, The Time Out Shop. She worked alongside George in both businesses, while simultaneously being a dedicated mom and active church and community member. Both businesses changed and impacted the local community for the better. In 1984, Patsy took a job in Birmingham and joined George in commuting for 10 years to help ensure all three of their children would be able to attend Auburn. After George was elected Probate Judge, she started working in Ashland again doing things she was passionate about, like renovating and catering. She also served on the committee for the Clay County Courthouse Centennial and was extremely proud of the improvements and restorations made to the courthouse. She was a hard worker, and she really could do it all – she was an artist, a seamstress, a gardener, a baker, a caterer, a decorator, a house renovator, and she used all of her talents to serve others, especially her family.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Nita West; her husband of 49 years, George Ingram; her brother, Bo West.

She is survived by one daughter, Wendy Hendrix (Gregg), of Lexington, S.C.; two sons, Clay Ingram (Katie), of Pensacola, and Maury Ingram (Shannon Davidson), of Atlanta; one brother, James West; and six grandchildren, Jake Ingram (Nicholle), Zack Ingram (Macy), Grant Hendrix, Sarah Ball (Andy), Claire Hendrix, and Austin West Ingram; and one great grandson on the way (Jack).

Serving as pallbearers for Patsy will be Jake Ingram, Zack Ingram, Grant Hendrix, Andy Ball, Jamie Brannock, and Marty Jones.

Honorary pallbearers are Austin West Ingram, Kenneth Ingram, Jr., Kirk Sanders, Ronnie Burdette, Larry Ray, Mike Mattox, Ronald Cowan, Frank Battle, Charlie Woodham, Kenny Cleveland, and Dr. David Hensleigh.

“Patsy’s Angels” were Rachel Brannock, Pat MacArthur, and Margie Garrett.

She was overwhelmed with gratitude for God sending them to her, and constantly expressed she could have never made it this far without them.
