The Legacy of Patricia Ann Moore

(Affectionately known as Grandma, Pat, and Suzy)

Patricia Ann Moore was born on October 29, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, to the union of Joseph and Bertha Mae Wright. Though she began life in Michigan, her heart and roots were firmly planted in Tupelo, Mississippi, where she spent the greater part of her life before relocating to Mobile, Alabama, in 2019.

Patricia’s life was one of service, compassion, and purpose. She devoted many years of her career to caring for the elderly, a calling that reflected her gentle spirit, patience, and deep love for others. A woman of unwavering faith, Patricia accepted Christ early in life and remained steadfast in her walk with Him. She found great joy in worship and faithfully served her church family. She was a devoted member of Chapel Grove Holiness Church and later Davis Temple Mustard Seed Ministries, where she served faithfully in various capacities, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she was needed.

Family was the center of Patricia’s world. She treasured time spent with her loved ones and found joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially gathering with family and enjoying a good game of bingo. Her loving heart, quiet strength, and consistent faith left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Patricia will be remembered as a woman who loved deeply, served faithfully, and lived selflessly.

Patricia departed this earthly life on January 30, 2026, surrounded by family, after an extended illness.

She leaves behind a rich legacy of love to be cherished by her children: Joseph Wright, Donnesie Wright, Ivory Moore, Wilburn Bradley, and Jarbar Johnson. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Rownita Jackson and Ollie (Clinton) Hunter. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Damarcus (Bekevia), India, Dontavis, Timea, Iashia, Stacia, Jaliyah, Jalisa, Devontae, Regis, Rasheeda, Emmanuel, Randell, Joseph, Tasheeda, Jamilous, Nosija, and Ivesha; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Among them are two devoted nieces, Takisha (Darius) Neal and Tynita Jackson, and one devoted nephew, Kenneth Jackson, all of whom will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie James Moore; her son, Demetris Wright; her daughters, Tikea Johnson and Tabatha Moore; and her brothers, Willie Craig and Joseph Wright.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1

With faith as her foundation and love as her guide, Patricia now rests safely in the arms of her Shepherd, at peace and forever home.
