Ottie Gean Handel Ray, age 86, of Tuscumbia, died Friday, February 08, 2013. Her family will receive friends Sunday, 1-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Lee, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Mrs. Ray was a native of Arkansas and a longtime resident of Tuscumbia, a teacher and a member of First United Methodist Church of Tuscumbia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey David Ray Sr.; her son, Aubrey David Ray II; brother, Emiel Otto Handel; sisters, Christina Phyllis Byers, Alfrida Thersa Fowler and Mary Elizabeth Holt.
She is survived by her son, Ricky G. Ray and wife Kathryn of Homewood; daughter-in-law, Laura Killen Ray of Vinemont, AL; sister, Katie Handel Blount, of Judsonia, AR; grandchildren, Josh Ray and wife Amy, Jeremy Ray and wife Danielle, Michael Ray and Adam Peoples and wife Melissa; great grandchildren, Emma Grace Ray and Mary Claire Ray.
