Orie Gene Carpenter, 79 of Athens, AL, passed away on April 30, 2021 at Limestone Health Facility.
Funeral Service will be Sunday May 2, 2021 at 3 P.M. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Don Terry and Tracy Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-3:00 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Carpenter was born September 7, 1941 in Lawerence County, AL; to William J. Carpenter and Bertha Mae Warren Carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Faye Elizabeth Carpenter, two brothers Orbie Lee Carpenter, and Abrom Carpenter.
He was retired from United Airlines after 39 years. Mr. Carpenter is survived by three sons Shane Carpenter and wife Alyson of Athens, AL; Bain Carpenter of Rogersville, AL; Tracy and wife Susan of Athens, AL; seven grandchildren Brady Carpenter, Keegan Carpenter, Liza Carpenter, Klair Carpenter, Kate Carpenter, Cole Clayton, Drake Clayton, one sister Lona Faye Jackson of Athens, AL; and one brother Steven Carpenter of Athens, AL.
Pallbearers will be Cole Clayton, Drake Clayton, Brady Carpenter, Keegan Carpenter, Matthew Carpenter, and Scott Cook.
