ATHENS-Athens Police made an arrest on Thursday, October 15 of a suspect for auto theft. Here is the statement on the arrest from Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson:
“Early this morning Officer Kelly Fussell was patrolling on US 72 when he saw a 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer with a tag that was not properly attached. Fussell checked the registration on the tag. A short time later dispatch told Fussell the tag was reported stolen early this month. Fussell stopped the vehicle on I 65 south of town. After checking the vehicle Fussell learned the car had been stolen over the past weekend from Clem’s Tire on US 72. Fussell arrested Quann Jerome Coleman for receiving stolen property first degree. Coleman was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”
