MUSCLE SHOALS-ALEA reports a traffic accident occurred around 11:45 AM on Wednesday, December 7 on Second Street just east of Muscle Shoals..
One person died and one was critically injured when an SUV hit the rear end of a truck carrying heavy equipment. The accident happened on Second Street
Angelica Deshaun Robinson, 22, of Sheffield, died from injuries she sustained in the accident. Alexas Clayton, 19 of Muscle Shoals was the driver of the 2000 Chevrolet Tracker.
According to State Troopers Robinson was a passenger in the SUV, she was taken to Helen Keller Hospital where she later died.
Clayton was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital and according to authorities she is in critical condition.
There were three dogs in the vehicle and all were not seriously injured and were taken to Colbert County Animal Shelter.
The accident remains under investigation.
