DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department released a statement regarding the shooting death that took place on Tuesday, June 21:
“On June 21, 2016 at 5:01 PM, Morgan County E911 received the call of a shooting at 606 8th St. SW.
Officers responded to the scene and found the victim Joshua Ashley McLemore suffered from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. McLemore was flown to Huntsville Hospital where he later died.
During the course of the investigation Scott Doyle Dutton was developed as a suspect and was detained by officers at the scene.
Dutton was later arrested and charged with Murder. Bond amount pending.”
