One Dead After Two Car Crash Near Hamilton

HAMILTON-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a traffic fatality from a two-car accident that occurred on Friday, December 16:

“A two-vehicle crash at 3:42 p.m. Friday, December 17, has claimed the life of a Hamilton woman.

Lila Luke Clingan, 81, was killed when the 1995 Nissan Altima in which she was a passenger collided with a 2010 Jeep driven by Kevin Beeson, 52, of Raleigh, NC.

Clingan, who was not using a seat belt, was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Altima is Jewell Terry McCarley, 83, of Hamilton. The crash occurred on Interstate 22, near the eight mile marker, one mile west of Hamilton.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.”
