HUNTSVILLE-A Huntsville Police Officer has been placed on administrative leave following her arrest for assault.  Here is how the Huntsville Police describe the events leading up to her arrest:

 (February 05, 2015) This morning, Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department Internal Affairs Division arrested Paige D. Pinkerton, a Uniform Division Patrol Officer.

On December 31, 2014, Paige D. Pinkerton was off duty and a patron at a local restaurant when she became involved in a physical altercation with an employee of the business. The victim indicated to Police that he was knocked unconscious for a short time and required medical attention. Huntsville Police responded and after learning of the off duty officer’s involvement launched an internal investigation. The Internal Affairs Division conducted a thorough and deliberate investigation into the incident. At the conclusion of the investigation a warrant was obtained leading Pinkerton to be arrested and charged with Assault 3rd Degree.

Officer Pinkerton has been with the Huntsville Police Department since February of 2014 and is assigned to the North Precinct 2nd Shift. She was sworn in June 20, 2014 as one of the twenty-six members of the 53rd Session of the Huntsville Police Academy. She has been booked into the Madison County Jail.

Pinkerton has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of her court proceedings.
