Judy Carolyn Peck Gates, age 66, Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, February 04, 2015 at her residence.
Judy was a homemaker, an avid Alabama fan, and a dog lover. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and concerts. She gave us all such courage and reminded us of all the preciousness of life. She was loved by all who knew her.
The visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 06, 2015 at Franklin Memory Mausoleum, with the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the mausoleum. Officiating will be Bro. James McCullar. She is survived by her first cousins, Shelia Malone, Johnny Hester, Radford Hester (Connie), Richie Hester (Amy), Greg Hamilton (Jessica), Brian Hamilton (Amy); special 2nd cousins, Alan, Julie, & Finleigh Malone; brother, Jerry Peck; uncle, Gene Hamilton (Brenda), aunt, Grace Hester; nephews & nieces, Johnny Mack, Rex Glasgow (Shelia), Pat Henson (Dr. Jerry), William Gates (Lily), Steve Gates (Cindy), Mark Gates (Michelle); sister-in-law, Juanita (Austin) Glasgow Lindsey; special friend, Ronnie Lovett; and much loved four legged companions, Bocephus, Gabby Hayes, and Tootsie Roll Tide.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry “W.H.” Gates; parents, James & Christine (Hamilton) Peck; special aunt & uncle, Ruby Jean & Van Hamilton; and special cousins, Moe & Randy Hamilton. The honorary pallbearers will be Milton Boyd, John Darty, Ronnie Lovett, Jimmy James, Ken Boyles, Jodie Beard, L.C. Holland, Alfred Pace, and Carl Blackburn.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hospice of the Shoals and to North Alabama Cancer Center for the love and care shown towards Judy in her time of illness.
