NORTH ALABAMA-Celebrate Earth Day on April 22 by visiting the Alabama State Parks and checking out these events:

EARTH FEST 2023 Desoto State Park

Celebrate Earth Day with the JSU Field School at the JSU Little River Canyon Center. Yoga, guided hikes, food, crafts, live animal programs and more! All activities are free. Call 256-845-3548 for official schedule (starting in April).

After the daytime activities conclude a concert will be held featuring Jess Goggans and David Sanford.

Date: Saturday, April 22, 2022

Time: 9:00 am—3:00 pm (CST)

Where: JSU’s Little River Canyon Center (within 10 miles of DeSoto State Park)

EARTH DAY: GUIDED HIKE Joe Wheeler State Park

Join our Park Naturalist on this 1-mile guided hike through our Champion Trail. Learn about the Champion Trees as well as all the other beautiful blooming species!

When: Earth Day | Saturday, April 22nd
Time: 10:00am
Where to Meet: Champion Trail Head (end of the Lodge parking lot)

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION! Guntersville State Park

EARTH DAY WAS STARTED 53 YEARS AGO TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT PROTECTING EARTH’S NATURAL RESOURCES FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. THIS YEAR, WE WILL HOST OUR FIRST EARTH DAY CELEBRATION AT LAKE GUNTERSVILLE STATE PARK WITH A PARK WIDE CLEAN UP TO PICK UP TRASH ALL ALONG THE BANKS OF THE TN RIVER & THROUGHOUT THE PARK FOR OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS TO ENJOY.

Location: Meet at the Buckeye Pavilion located across from the Beach
Date: April 22nd, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM – Lunch will be served from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

Please come to the Buckeye Pavilion to sign-in and be assigned a clean up area!
