North Alabama African Heritage Association Extends Gratitude to City of Tuscumbia, Sponsors, and Citizens for Supporting Annual Festival and Scholarship Awards

TUSCUMBIA – The North Alabama African Heritage Association extends its deepest appreciation to the City of Tuscumbia, sponsors, and citizens for their unwavering support during the highly successful annual festival. The event, which celebrated African heritage and cultural diversity, received overwhelming encouragement from the community, enabling the association to make a positive impact on the lives of local students.

Thanks to the generous support from the City of Tuscumbia, sponsors, and citizens, the North Alabama African Heritage Association had the privilege to award scholarships to five outstanding seniors who excelled in both athletics and academics at their respective schools.

The recipients of these prestigious scholarships are as follows:
1. Demarion Newsome (Deshler High School)
2. Walter Goggins (Deshler High School)
3. Kandaries Anderson (Deshler High School)
4. Tyson Hughes (Muscle Shoals High School)
5. J’yheam Ingram (Muscle Shoals High School)

Each of these remarkable students has demonstrated exemplary dedication, hard work, and passion, setting a remarkable example for their peers. The scholarships presented by the North Alabama African Heritage Association will undoubtedly contribute significantly to their continued educational journey and future successes.

As a 501(c)(3) organization, the North Alabama African Heritage Association remains committed to empowering the youth of Tuscumbia and surrounding areas. With the continued support of the city, sponsors, and citizens, the association will be able to foster even greater positive change in the lives of  local students.
