Norman Cosby, 97, of Rogersville, passed away, Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at North Alabama Medical Center.
Norman was a member of the Ironworkers Local #477. He started his apprenticeship at Reynolds Metals in 1947 and continued his apprenticeship at TVA working on the construction of the Power Service Shop, Colbert Steam Plant and the Phosphate Development Plant. After working at a few other job sites, he returned to Reynolds Metals where he worked for 36 years as an Ironworker, Foreman, General Foreman and Engineer. He was a member of the Ironworker’s Local for 76 years and held the oldest card in Local #477.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 5th from 12 -1 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in the chapel with Dr. Christopher Joiner officiating. Burial will be in Hooie-Bedingfield Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Cosby was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Marie Cosby; parents, Allen & Sybil Cosby; grandson, Jeffery David Cosby; brother, Kendall Cosby and son-in-law, Alex Quintana.
He is survived by his children, Sharon Quintana of Franklin, TN, Phillip (Patti) Cosby of Rogersville, David (Leann) Cosby of Rogersville, Michael (Angie) Cosby of Rogersville, Cathy (Larry) Snoddy of Rogersville and Dana (Johnny) Berry of Arab; grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Joiner of Calagry, Canada, Jonathan (Cesar) Joiner of San Francisco, CA, Ryan (Luzia) Quintana of Norfolk, MA, Rory (Wera) Quintana of Oakland, CA, Derrick (Amanda) Cosby of Columbia, TN, Brent (Ann) Cosby of Rogersville, AL, Amber (Michael) Almond of Rogersville, AL, Katie (Bryan) Brackeen of Greensboro, NC, Whitney (George) Cosby of Madison, AL, Jessica (BJ) Cummins of Athens, AL, Kimberlyn Snoddy of New York, New York, Lilli Snoddy of Rogersville, AL, Hannah (Trevor) Collier of Rogersville, AL, Lindsay Berry of Pensacola, FL and John Adam Berry of Athens, AL; great-grandchildren, Caleb (Ryoko) Joiner, Chandler (Zach) Joiner, Dylan Cosby, Sydney (Hobi) Aljohani, Addison Maurer, Ella Cosby, Riley Cosby, Lana Almond, Gemma Almond, Hatti Brackeen, Harper Brackeen, Charlie Mac Collier and Hollis Collier; great-great grandchildren, Kotomi Joiner and Naomi Joiner; brother, Bobby Cosby; numerous nieces and nephews.
