Norma Jean Billington Norma Jean Billington, 94, life-long resident of the Pottsville and Rally Hill Communities, died Friday, January 20, 2023 at NHC Columbia.

 

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Kenneth Bray officiating. Burial will follow in Shires Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 12:30 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

 

Born February 6, 1928 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Billington and  the late Maggie Chunn Billington. She retired after working 40 years for Genesco. She had also worked for Teledyne and Pelikan Corporations. Ms. Billington was a member of Old Lasea Church of Christ.

 

Survivors include her sisters, Faye (Billy) Greenfield of Nashville; Avon (Don) Clemons of Lebanon; brothers, Will Fleming Billington of Columbia; James “Buster” Billington of Columbia; sister-in-law, Margaret Burns Billington of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Annie Margaret Billington, Ruben Billington, Wayne Billington, and Wilma Damron.

 

Active pallbearers will be Chance Damron, Spencer Pope, Larry Wayne Billington, Scott Liggett, Don Clemons, Dustin Delffs, Paul Rainwater, Dudley Delffs, and Keith Greenfield.
