Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, eyeglasses and closeup Ms. Nixola Ann “Niki” Barnes, age 75, of Winfield passed away, Friday, August 9, 2019 at her residence. Niki was born to Elbert and Icie Gann Franks on January 17, 1944. Ms. Barnes was a member of the Winfield Freewill Baptist Church, a 1962 Alumni of Winfield City High School and was employed by the Winfield City School System as middle school secretary for many years. She enjoyed working in her yard and game night with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Myla Byars (Brian) of Winfield and Abra Wallis (Justin) of Moody, two grandsons, Ty Garrison and Eli Wallis, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Franks and Icie Gann Franks, and two brothers, Edsil and Wyman Franks.
Funeral services for Niki will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. from the Winfield Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Winfield City Cemetery. Brother Jerry Williams, Brother Kent Nelson and Brother Danny Williams will be the officiating ministers. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (service time) at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to; Winfield Freewill Baptist Church for Missions or Winfield Alumni Association.
