Mrs. Nina Moore Beckham, 93, of Florence, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Center.
The service to celebrate her life will be Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Elkins Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Simmons officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time. A private committal service will follow at Greenview Cemetery.
Mrs. Beckham was preceded in death by her husband Harold Beckham.
A lifelong member of North Wood United Methodist Church and an active member of the Mary/Martha Circle, Nina loved church, family, friends, gardening, cooking, and life. Her laugh was contagious and she never met a stranger.
Nina began work at an early age, working many years for Bell South Telephone and into her senior years as a Wal-Mart greeter.
She is survived by daughters Ella Hall of Cary, NC, Stella Berry of Sheffield and Harolene Simmons and husband Billy of Killen; grandchildren Amy Thomas and husband Marshal of Suwannee, GA, Taylor Hall of New York City, Heather Jolley and husband Ryan of Prattville, Karen Berry of Auburn, Natalie Robbins and husband Russ of Killen and Adam Simmons of Killen; great-grandchildren Alex, Parker and Brooke Thomas, Emily and Drew Jolley and Emma and Grant Robbins; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to North Wood United Methodist Church or the V.F.W.
