Nicolas Carlson Cyr, 18, of Gurley, passed away Wednesday at his residence.
Nicolas was a kind and loving person who never said a mean thing about anyone. He loved his church family and became an important leader in youth. He was a fierce friend to Ryan, David, Jesse, Jordan, Nick M, Cooper and many others. But most of all, he was greatly loved by his family, especially his brother Adam.
He was a graduate of Madison County High School, Class of 2015 and attended the University of Alabama. He was preceded in death by three grandfathers: William Sutton, Joseph Cyr and Jerry Watson.
Survivors include his parents: James and Julie Cyr; one brother: Adam Cyr; his grandmother: Karen Watson; his grandparents: George and Julia Boyd; a number of aunts and uncles: Charlene and Kris Cyr, William S. Sutton, Joe and Martha Sutton, John Sutton and many cousins.
Visitation will be Friday at Gurley United Methodist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Gurley United Methodist Church with Rev. Dale Capron officiating. Burial will follow in Gurley City Cemetery.
