ARAB-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Arab in Marshall County has taken the life of a New Hope man and sent two other people to hospital with injuries:
“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, has claimed the life of a New Hope man.
Hank R. Hornbuckle, 44, was fatally injured when the 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe that he was a passenger in, left the roadway, overturned, struck a ditch and then a tree. Hornbuckle was not using a seat belt at the time of crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, Christopher A. McNeese, 56, of Arab, was injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. A second passenger of the Chevrolet, Donal C. Dowdy, 54, of New Hope, was also injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred on U.S. 231 near Mountain View Road, approximately four miles north of Arab, in Marshall County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
