Nellie Ruth Hornsby Walker age 83, of Holly Pond passed away Thurs. Oct. 13, 2016, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Walker was born on Jan. 22, 1933, in Marshall County, AL the Daughter of Junior Cornelius and Clara Bell Light Hornsby. She was married to Robert C. Walker who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by Parents: Neely and Clara Hornsby; Children: Billy Don Walker and Mickey Rodgers; Siblings: Della Fletcher, Dean King, Dianne Powell, Irene Hornsby, Gene Hornsby and Noel Hornsby; Grandchildren: Thor Leif Walker and Timothy Ryan; Son in law: Danny Weaver. She was a member of Baileyton United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending functions at the Baileyton Senior Center. She is survived by her Children: Joan Walker Weaver; Jane Walker (Larry) Brown, Rhonda Walker Ryan and Ruth (Bill) Rose; Sisters: Katie (Mickey) Brown and James (Mellicha) Hornsby; Grandchildren: Chris (Tamala) Weaver, Shane (Jennifer) Brown, Matt (Heather) Ryan, Mitch (Stacy) Ryan, Bridgette Chandler, Adam (Jessica) Weaver, Ashleigh Brown, Michael (Amber) Ryan, Davey Rodgers and Billy Rose; 11 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday Oct. 16, 2016, at 3 PM at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Deborah Moon officiating. Eulogies will be given by Bridgette Chandler, Rachel Weaver and Taylor Brown. Mrs. Walker’s Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The burial will follow in the Gilliam Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat. from 6-8 PM at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. The family is accepting flowers or memorials may be made to the Baileyton United Methodist Church or the Baileyton United Methodist Church Backpack Program at PO Box 134 Baileyton, AL 35019.
