Nellie Jo Graves, 87 of Guntersville, the Snow Point Community, died Thursday October 26, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Graves was born August 18, 1930 in Marshall County to Loyd Maclom Porch and Bessie Lou Pate Porch. She was employed by Blue Bell/Wrangler as a supervisor until her retirement. Her husband Levhon Graves preceded her in death in June 2006. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She loved animals, especially cats.
She was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son: Eric Graves; her son-in-law: Barry Ackerson; her grandchildren: Sean Ackerson and Elizabeth, Belinda “Bella” Graves and Savannah Graves; her great grandson: Nathaniel Ackerson; her sister: Patricia “Pat” Atchley. She was preceded in death by her husband: Levhon Graves; her daughter: Linda Graves Ackerson; her parents: Loyd and Bessie Porch and her sisters: Alline Bright and Frances Ogletree.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 29, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brother: Tim Nabors, officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Home Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Sean Ackerson, Barry Ackerson, Max Nabors, Johnny Chamness, Fred Dodd and Ray Oden.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday October 28, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
