Nelda J. Beene, 77, of Leighton passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015. The visitation will be Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Mark Mayfield officiating. The burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.
She was a native of Corinth, MS and a member of Leighton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleatus Alford and Tiny Rose Johnson.
Nelda J. Beene devoted her life to Christ. Her calling was to teach others about the Lord. She enjoyed flower gardening, antique glassware, and spending time with her family. She has left an everlasting impact on her entire family and the people around her.
She is survived by her husband, William Dwight Beene; son, Keith Dwight Beene (Denise); daughter, Sheila Beene Vogel (Stephen); 4 grandchildren, Chasity Beene Keith, Krista Beene Lackey, Sara E. Vogel, and Stephanie Ann Vogel; and three great-grandchildren, Mason Martin, Karlie Lackey, and Kambry Lackey.
Pallbearers are Aaron Keith, Stephen Vogel, Chris Lackey, Jeff Smallwood, Brad Bradford, Frank Henry, Doug Little, and Justin Smallwood.
