Naomi Jones Pevahouse was born on May 23, 1938 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Arden B. and Amy Idealy English Murphy.
On June 10, 1983, she was united in marriage to Willie Chesley Pevahouse, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 18, 2019.
Naomi worked for a garment factory and owned a worm ranch. She started Faith and Grace Church with her husband. She loved sewing, going to church, and playing music and guitar.
Naomi departed this life on April 5, 2023 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 13 days.
She is survived her daughters, Jo Ann Franks, Oma Jean Farr, Debra Evans and her husband Roger, and Teresa Branum; son, Charles Ray Jones; brother, Jerry Wayne Murphy; sisters, Goldie Dean Couch and Faye Terry; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Naomi was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Lee Jones; son in law, David Earl Franks; daughter in law, Sherry Lynn Jones; sister, Katherine Brown; brothers, Junior Murphy and Loyd Raymond Murphy; and 1 grandchild.
