Nancy Katherine Marie Vandiver Kerby, age 89, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025. A public visitation will be Tuesday, February 18th, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. A private service will follow. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Stacey Hanna, Tyler Reeves, Gene Purdy, Nicholas Henry, Greg Henry, Jessie Purdy, Logan Chaney, Isach Elliot, and Ian Smith; Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, neighbors, and Stanley Tompkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Earl Kerby; parents, Ross and Katie Vandiver; brothers, Ross Vandiver, Jr. (Carolyn), Truman Vandiver, and Abraham Vandiver (Earnestine); brother-in-law, Ralph Andrews.
Survivors are her children, David Kerby (Kerry), Debbie Kerby Dixon, and Dwight Kerby (DeaLynn); sister, Joyce Andrews; sisters-in-law, Olene Freeman and Dorothy Vandiver; grandchildren, Stephanie Tompkins, Jessica Purdy (Gene), Desiree Hanna, Karah Henry (Greg), Beth Riley (James), Justin Kerby (Brandy), and Jonathan Kerby; greatgrandchildren, Devin Elliot (Isach), Ann Purdy (Logan), Kylie Carter (Ian), Tyler Reeves (Del), Andrew Kerby, Jessie Purdy, Nicholas Henry, Cadence Kerby, and Jaxson Kerby; great-grandchildren, Gabrel, Aurora, and Ophelia; several nieces and nephews and a special friend Peggy Hines.
Nancy loved lace tablecloths and linen of all kinds. She kept a flyswat handy for the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She loved seeing her family and got a big smile seeing her grandkids and great grandkids. You did not try to change the channel from channel 49 Fox news without her permission. She was known and will be remembered by her love for dusters, gravy and biscuits (Extra), and Gaither’s music.
