Nancy Henderson Walker – Obituary

Nancy Henderson Walker, 78, of Huntsville, Alabama went to her home with our Lord and Savior on August 27, 2018. Nancy was born to Johnny and Grace Henderson on May 7, 1940. She graduated from Butler High School and Auburn University (War Eagle!).

Nancy retired from the US Government after 35 years of service and a distinguished career culminating in the position of Deputy Director, Resource Management for Army Missile Command. She actively served her community as a volunteer on the Redstone Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee for 14 years and had served on the Board of Directors for the last 18 years.

Nancy loved traveling, Auburn football, entertaining friends and spending time with the family that meant so much to her. She was always ready for the next adventure and always had a meal to share. Her kind and generous spirit will be a lasting legacy.

Survivors include children, Philip Walker (Barbara), Susan Heeschen (Robert), and Stacy Pollard (Chris); grandchildren, Kelsey Randolph (Undrea), Cathryn Schrimsher (Drew), Michael Walker, Isabel Pollard, Caitlyn Pollard, and Celia Heeschen; and brother, Jimmy Henderson (Gale). She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Danny Henderson.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, August 31 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
