Nancy Evelyn Martin, Age 81, a resident of Harvest, Alabama passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 21, 2020. She was born on December 11, 1938 in Smicksburg, Pennsylvania and grew up in Powell, Wyoming where she played the oboe in the band. Nancy Martin led a full life of loving her family, travelling the world, ballroom dancing, camping and bird watching all while filled with a great sense of humor. She had a heart for volunteering in her community and served many joyfully. Nancy loved singing in the choir at Ford’s Chapel United Methodist Church and played in the Handbell Choir for years at Lakewood United Methodist church. She worked for many years at Wyle Laboratories in Huntsville and was always noted for her kindness in the workplace while there.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Martin, of 62 years, children, Marcia Robinson, and husband, Harry, Bobby Martin and wife, Melinda, Chris Martin, and wife, Jackie, and Greg Martin, and wife, Charlotte, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Celebration of life services for Nancy will be held at Ford’s Chapel on Tuesday, August 25th with visitation at 2:30 p.m. and services starting at 3:30 p.m. A graveside services will follow on Wednesday, August 26th at 12:00 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
During her time of illness, she was treated with great care and love by many medical professionals in the Huntsville area and for that the family would like to humbly say thank you. The family would especially like to thank the Fresenius Dialysis Clinic on Pansy Street and the loving nurses that cared so much for her, and our friend Marlene for her love and support in our home. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage memorial donations to the Ford’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Harvest, Alabama, or the National Kidney Foundation.
