Nancy Carolyn Balentine Jones was called home on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 9, from 2:00–4:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of her life at 4:00 p.m.

Nancy was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and faithfully attended Crosspoint for over thirty years. She attended Mars Hill Bible School and continued to be involved with her classmates throughout the years. She had a true gift for working with flowers and was a dedicated member of the Florence Garden Club for twenty-seven years. She was also a life member of the Garden Club of Alabama. Nancy’s compassion for others was reflected in her work at First Southern and, after retirement, in her landscape design work alongside Bobby, as well as in her gentle care for the elderly for more than twenty-five years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wayland and Myrtle Rogers Balentine, her daughter, Molly Beth Smith, and her siblings Patsy Ann, Peggy Jane, Larry James, and infant brother.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Bobby Jones, with whom she shared sixty-four years of marriage; her daughter, Jennifer Jones Parrish (Mitch); her grandson, Benjamin Watkins; and her siblings, Jacque Anderson (David), Jeanne Holder (the late Carl Holder), and Steve Balentine (Kelly), along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

The family extends special thanks to the staff of Hospice of North Alabama, especially her nurse, Leah Denton, CNA Penny Green, and her caregiver, Ashley Britnell, for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Carpenter Brothers at Crosspoint Church of Christ.
