Mythelda Marie Pardue Sartain

Mythelda Marie Pardue Sartain, 86, passed away after a long struggle against kidney disease, Friday, February 21, 2025 at her residence. She was born in the Dennis community to John Tillman Pardue and Lealura Wilson Pardue. She was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church in Dennis. She worked tirelessly for many years to raise funds to support the Joel Cemetery with other devoted ladies of the community, especially her dear friend, Vera Sartain.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 24, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. David Gould officiating. Visitation will be Monday, 9-11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Joel Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeff Sartain and Jamie Sartain and one brother, J.L. “Bud” Pardue (Pat).

She was preceded in death by her parents; two babies who died shortly after their births; three sisters, Velma “Bill” Mathieu, Maxine Glasgow and Dorothy Pardue and two brothers, Willie “Bee” Pardue and M.L. “Larry Gene” Pardue.

Pallbearers will be Quint Sartain, Frank Brinkley, Brendix Glasgow and Royce Hopkins.
