Myrtle Batchelor Gilbert, age 104, Haleyville, AL. passed away Saturday September 14, 2013. She was a member of County Line Methodist Church, Myrtle was one of the last of the Quilt makers that were members of County Line church.
Her visitation will be on Sunday September 15, 2013 from 4:00PM – 5:00PM at Pinkard Funeral Home-Haleyville, with her funeral at 5:00PM in the chapel, with Bro. Terry Duncan officiating, burial to follow at Winston Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Dot Chambers and Ollie Gilbert, Jr.; brother, Cecil Batchelor; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LM and Mary Batchelor; husband, Ollie Gilbert; daughter, Pauline Thomason; several brothers and sisters.
