LAUDERDALE COUNTY – Terry Wayne Myers, the individual that escaped the Florence/Lauderdale County Detention Center on April 22, was arrested late last night near the Kentucky/Tennessee line.
Currently Myers is being held at a facility in London, Kentucky. There has yet to be any word on when Myers will return to the Florence/Lauderdale because he has not signed his Waiver of Expedition.

Officials say Myers was one of five individuals in the past twelve months to have escaped the Detention Center. All have escaped through the ventilation system, and this week County Commissioners have decided this has to stop.
According to Lauderdale County Commissioner Faye Parker, the County Commission will be adding more security to areas of the facility that have been lacking such. Razor wire and fences will be added to a portion that previously had none. They will also be adding razor wire into the ventilation system to prevent the inmates from using them as escape routes.
According to Parker, the particular area the inmates have escaped from has been shut down until the new security measures can be put in place.
