Muscle Shoals Woman Dies From Injuries Received In Two-Vehicle Crash Near Killen

KILLEN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident near Killen has taken the life of a Muscle Shoals woman and sent two other people to hospital:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:47 p.m. Sunday, August 24, has claimed the life of a Muscle Shoals woman. Joyce B. Eggleston, 78, was critically injured when the 2020 Mercedes A220 that she was driving was struck by the 2014 Jeep Cherokee driven by a 17-year-old, of Killen.

Eggleston was injured and transported to North Alabama Medical Center for treatment where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the hospital. The juvenile was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. A passenger of the Mercedes, Percy L. Eggleston, 79, of Muscle Shoals, was also injured and airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred on U.S. 72 near Parker Road, approximately two miles east of Killen, in Lauderdale County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
