John Wallace Spence, age 93, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at Maury Regional Hospital.

He was born February 7th, 1932, in the Verona Community, to the late Sam and Ora Sanders Spence. He was a Dairy Farmer and a member of Westvue Church of Christ. He had also worked at Heil Quaker before and after his eight years of military service in the Army, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was a proud Korean War veteran and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his coon dogs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Wayne Spence, his siblings and their spouses, Gertie (Jimmy) Kerian, B.D. (Marcella) Spence, Margaret (James) Petty, and Tommy (Patsy) Spence.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Wiser, two daughters, Brenda Norris of Columbia, and Deborah Young of Columbia, two step sons, Roger (Annette) Leonard of Laws Hill, and Johnny Leonard of Shelbyville, grandchildren, Brian Heath (Jessica) Richardson, Marianne Norris Russell (Paul Armstrong), Kayla Delk (Shawn McBeth), Jacob (Erin) Delk, and Hunter (Arielle) Delk, great grandchildren, Kady, Caleb, Riley, Mason, and Gabriel, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home and Crematory 324 W. Church St Lewisburg, Tn 37091 on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, until the funeral hour.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, at 10:00 am from the Chapel of London Funeral Home and Crematory 324 W. Church St Lewisburg, Tn 37091 with burial to follow in Berea Cemetery with military honors.
