MUSCLE SHOALS-The Muscle Shoals Trojan wrestling team saw their first action of the season this past weekend at the Huntsville Invitational held at Huntsville High School. Arick Shankles, 3x state champion, finished as the tournament champion in the 113 pound weight class going 5-0 all with first period pinfalls. Joe Green, state runner up,also had a strong showing, going 5-2 and finishing 4th in the 126 weight class. James Green wrestled in the 152 pound weight class and finished 4th with a record of 3-3 for the tournament taking on multiple state placers in one of the toughest brackets of the tournament. Braden Barnes finished 3-2 record, while wrestling in the 145 pound weight class, and Brennen Shankles finished at 2-3 wrestling up at the 132 pound weight class. The Trojans will be adding several new faces to the line up in the next couple of weeks.The Trojans will be back in action again Friday and Saturday at the Charlie Bruce Duals held in Fultondale Alabama.
