ATHENS-MTM Educational Enrichment and the City of Athens Presents Let’s Move Athens…All roads should lead to Athens, Alabama on Saturday, August 6 from 8am until 12 noon. The location is the grounds of Athens Recreation Center located 21821 Sportsplex Loop.
What’s happening? A day of UNITY geared around these 4 Pillars: Fitness, Finance, Faith and Family. Right out the gate, a Walkathon for a walk of YOUR Cause or a Charity of YOUR choice. One lap around the track is 1.5 miles. We will kick this event off at 8am.
After your Walk for YOUR Cause or Charity, you can move into our Exhibit and Vendors area around our 4 pillars. Life South will be there to support our Blood Drive.
Now what? We will be giving away school supplies, free hair cuts and styles all while they last.
There is more, join in on our 3 on 3 basketball tournament (all ages) and 3 point shoot out. Yes, trash taking will take place in a loving hostile FREE environment. Tre’ Townsend of Athens has agreed to spearhead this event.
Hungry! Great, There will be Big John BBQ food truck, Happi Pappi and so much more to cool you off and fill up your tummy.
Get Ready for the LARGEST Line Dance to be formulated in Athens and beyond led by Brenda Wiley of Athens. Of course, we will perform the Electric Slide to hopefully break some kind of record.
