MORGAN COUNTY-The Morgan County /sheriff’s Department is assisting Giles County Tennessee with the arrest of a woman wanted for Attempted Murder. Here is how Sheriff Ana Franklin describes the event:
The criminal investigation division (CID) assisted Giles County Tennessee investigators in the arrest of a Morgan County woman wanted for attempted first degree murder.
Giles County Tennessee Sheriff’s investigators contacted Morgan County on Wednesday morning asking for help in locating Renae Campbell, 46, a Morgan County resident. Campbell allegedly went to Giles County Tennessee and sometime early in the morning of 27, August 2014 and attacked her sister with her fists and a knife, causing her serious but non life threatening injuries.
Morgan county CID located and positively identified Campbell, provided the Giles County authorities with her identifiers, and obtained local search warrants, and based upon a Tennessee arrest warrant a fugitive from justice warrant.
Giles county investigators met with Morgan County investigators in Decatur. Morgan county investigators accompanied Giles County investigators to 182 NW Lawrence Road, Hartselle, where both the search warrant and arrest warrant were served.
Campbell will be held in the Morgan county jail pending extradition to Tennessee.
