Mona Ilene Webster Holcomb, 78, of Cobb County, GA, passed away on 8/31/24 surrounded by her loving family.
Ilene was born on 1/22/1946 in Winfield, Alabama to her mother, Louise Webster and her father, Arlington Webster. She was the younger sister of William Webster and Patricia Webb. After graduating from college, she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Holcomb, at a mutual friend’s party. Bill was soon sent to Japan with the Marines. They wrote beautiful love letters to each other while he was overseas. Eventually he proposed via letter. As soon as he returned home, they married and started a wonderful and happy life together.
After a few years, they settled in Kennesaw, GA with their two daughters Malissa Duke and Lori Mulcare. They had a romance like few ever experience and loving marriage for almost 25 years, up until her soulmate passed away from cancer. After retiring from retail (25+ years), she spent her time being the best Nana and mom ever. She adored her girls and grandbabies. They were her #1 priority. She was a fierce defender of the underdog, the angel for those in need of a shining light and the strongest, most loving soul you could ever meet. She has touched so many people with her strength, love and beautiful soul. She enjoyed reading, going to casinos with her mom and sister, taking trips back home to Winfield and spending time with her sister, Pat, as well as her nieces and nephews. Family was everything to her and she was everything to her family.
