Mitchell Wayne Patton Sr., 81, of Oakman, went home to be with the Lord on, Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Grandview Medical Center.
Family will receive friends on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 1 until 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Walker Memory Gardens. Joey Sparks will officiate.
Mitchell was born and raised in Oakman. He was a longtime owner of Oakman Super Market for 30 years. He was a member of Parrish Church of Christ. He loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Patton; parents, Oscar Lee Patton and Mae Lawson Patton; siblings, Willma Johnston, Imogene Harris, Gloria Karrh, Martha Patton, Jerry Patton, Robert Patton and Harold Patton.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Swindle Patton; sons, Wayne Patton of Oakman, Chris Patton (Suzanne) of Oakman; daughter, Tammy Patton Rigsby (Clay) of Jasper; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Gail Griffin of Alabaster; brother, Roger Patton of Oakman and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
