Miriam  Janice  SullengerMiriam Janice Sullenger, age 86, of Huntland passed from this life on Thursday, August 12, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 31, 1934 in Akron, OH to the late Everett and Hallie Sutphin. Janice was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she played the piano for over 30 years. She worked at Jennings Jewelers and United Diamond Brokers for over 33 years, which lead to her love of jewelry. Janice enjoyed looking at catalogs, doing word searches and puzzles, and watching Hallmark movies. She will be remembered as a good hearted woman with a wonderful soul. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Claude “Doug” Sullenger; daughter, Cheryl Sullenger; sibilings, Iris James, Daphine Martin, Betty Hudson and Bud Sutphin. Janice is survived by her children, Crystal Brandon Smith of Manchester, David Sullenger of Huntland, and Cathy Floyd of Huntland; grandchildren, Benjamin Brandon of Estill Springs, Tiffiny (Chad) Walton of Tullahoma, Cary (Nicole) Sullenger of Madison, AL, Jody Floyd of Huntland, Jami (Ryan) Fuller of Estill Springs; great-grandchildren, Tyler (Chloe) Walton, Paige (Dylan) McElhaney, Kylie Sullenger, Hallie Fuller and Hollis Fuller and a host of nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00PM on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:00PM in Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Mike Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
