Coach Higgins was my golf coach at Bartlett High School for 2 years: ’72 & ’73. I later took part in doing some History Classes for him; 20 years later at the same school. He was a good coach and a down to earth guy. My condolences.
Coach Higgins was my high school History teacher. I wish I had focused more on History, and less on boys at the time ~ as history is a passion now. Coach, I wish now that I had taken the opportunity to look you up in the years that followed high school, to tell you what an inspiration you were to me. I will never forget your smile, and your humor. Thank you for the memories you created for all of us, and I hope you knew how special you were! Rest in peace, Coach.
RIP, Coach! You are missed!
We are sad for your loss

Coach Higgins was my history teacher and I was in his his study hall. Everyone has a teacher they remember and respected and for me that was coach Higgins. My prayers are with his family. RIP. Kathy Garst
I worked afternoons in the Coach’s office while attending Bartlett High Schoo in the late ’70s. Coach Higgins was such a sweet and kind man. I looked forward to hearing all his funny stories every day. You are missed, Coach.
Coach was also my American History Teacher, we had a crazy love/hate sort of relationship. Mostly on my part, immaturity does crazy things! He was an awesome coach and teacher, who I appreciated way too late.GOD KNOWS I LOVED THAT DUDE!
Coach was my American History Teacher as well. I used to look forward to his class. I remember watching “The Bridge Over The River Kwai” for the first time in his class. I have loved that movie and military history ever since!! RIP Coach.
I had the privilege to be Coach Higgins’ Assistant Freshman football coach back in the early 80’s at Bartlett High School. He was a tremendous coach and mentor to the team and taught me a lot about the game. I’ll always have so many positive memories of working with him both on and off the field. RIP, my friend.
