Mildred Elaine Johnson, age 68, of Florence, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 21, from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Thursday, August 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Brad Adock officiating. Burial will be at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was retired from Ford Motor Company. She was the founder and owner of M&J Sporting Goods. She loved her children and friends unconditionally. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mamie Johnson; brothers, Bobby, Charles and Ronald Johnson; and sister, Janice Murphy. She is survived by her husband, Alfred R. Johnson; sons, Steve, Shawn, and Shannon Johnson, and special sons, William and Todd Johnson; sister, Ann Stutts; and brother, Randy Johnson; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jake Johnson, Brogan Johnson, Mark Murphy, Brian Pigg, Dustin McCown, and Jamey Poss. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Austin, Rob Bunch, Kent Sims, and Joe Shanes.
